The Director for the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), Professor Peter Quartey has postulated that the 2023 budget will only solve the nation’s problems to some extent and in that perspective, he expects the budget to have a long-term strategy as well as measures that will be put in place to make the IMF negotiations meaningful.
In reference to the current economic crisis in the Ghana, with revenue mobilization being low, the ISSER Director says he expects the 2023 budget to include measures being put in place to address the nation’s fiscal challenges.
According to the ISSER Director, with concerns to the debt restructuring bit, he asserted that having a reduction in government appointees will also go a long way to help streamline the nation’s fiscal position.
